Oberg Discloses Alberta's Surplus - But Still Not His PC Leadership Campaign Donors - What (and who) Gives?

It is a good thing Dr. Oberg is providing an open and transparent declaration of the Alberta Surplus situation in his quarterly update. So we are into the $4B level of projected surplus now and yes there are some reasons for concern looking out and we need to be better at planning for a slower growth in our Alberta.

That said, I wonder when Dr. Oberg is going to release his PC Leadership campaign donor list? He promised he would and did I miss it? On December 2 it will be one year since the PC leadership was decided and still no disclosure from Dr. O.

He has the discipline to get quarterly updates done on surpluses, surely he can give us a simply list of his campaign donors and the amounts contributed before a year is out.

How can Dr. Oberg justify this failure, refusal or neglect to release his leadership campaign donor list when he promised that he would? Not good enough Dr. O. Not nearly a good enough. Dr. Oberg should be setting an example of open, accountable and transparent government given his Cabinet position!

Can you please post a list of the people who donated to Stelmach's campaign? In fact, he DID NOT list those donors who wanted to remain private - how is that transparency?

Can you provide a comprehensive list of the donors to Hancock's campaign as well? Where do I find it?

  2. Hancock's donors list and the individual amounts were published on his campaign website for months after the campaign. You should have been paying attention. I have no idea how to get that information now.

All other candidates did the same thing by putting donor info on their campaign websites except for Dr. Oberg who promised to but so far as I can tell has not yet delivered.

Also Dr. Morton made it very clear from the outset he would not disclose his donor list and as far as I know he never has.

The rules of the party did not require donor disclosure - that decision was only one of the serious errors in how that leadership campaign was organized.

    Ken:

I would have thought you would be a little more resourceful in your response to Anon 8:22 am. Hancock's contributions can be found at http://www.taxpayer.com/main/news.php?news_id=2501. I would not that there are some anonymous contributors.

  4. Anon @12:18 - Thanks for the diligence in tracking the Hancock leadership campaign donors. It was obviously not hard to find.

And yes there were a few anonymous donors but not many dollars involved as I recall.

Speaking of anonymous contributions - why are you commmenting about this point on this Blog anonymously? Are you one of the anonymous donors?
